Сryoblaster «TRANSFORMER 2.0»
Dry ice savings of up to 27% using supersonic nozzles and granule grinding with a state-of-the-art rotary granule feeding system
Dry ice savings of up to 27% using supersonic nozzles and granule grinding with a state-of-the-art rotary granule feeding system
New grinding matrices with a gap of 4 and 4.5 mm allow obtaining particles of 3-3.5 mm in size, which ensures cleaning aggressiveness on par with 3 mm granules.
New grinding matrices with a gap of 4 and 4.5 mm accelerate cleaning by 50-70%, for example, the consumption of crushed granules with a diameter of 16 mm has increased from 80-100 kg/h to 150-170 kg/h.
Instead of a rotating plastic knife, a metal-plastic knife is now used, which is tens of times stronger.
The new frequency converters have vector torque control and provide a powerful starting cut of large granules or frozen 3 mm granules.
The built-in additional heater in the chopper device further extends the time of continuous cleaning with chopping.
The patented exhaust system ensures minimal exhaust of dry ice snow after crushing (patent for invention of the Russian Federation No. 2813440 dated 03/13/2023).
The TRANSFORMER 2.0 сryoblaster is an industrial-grade cleaning device with dry ice, which are distinguished by their highest efficiency (high pellet feed rate, high compressed air pressure for cleaning) and increased return on investment thanks to built-in patented technologies that improve the reliability and efficiency of the device as a whole. The development of TRANSFORMER 2.0 took into account the best global practices in the field of dry ice cleaning.
Reduced evaporation of granules and increased period of use.
Choice of particle sizes: 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, 3 mm. Reduction in dry ice consumption due to faster acceleration of smaller particles.
The ¾-inch diameter of the flow system ensures minimal air pressure loss and lower ice consumption for cleaning compared to ½ inch;
Reduced ice consumption thanks to efficient acceleration of granules in nozzles with a Laval nozzle profile.
High stability of pellet feed due to solid-state control of pellet mixing;
The new II-generation unit was developed in 2022 based on the operational experience of IRBISTEKH customers.
For cleaning, you can now use large granules that evaporate more slowly and do not stick together, like 3 mm granules.
Due to cleaning with smaller particles (1-2 mm) compared to 3 mm granules:
Seven grinding sieve sizes:
Small particles strike evenly across the entire cleaning area, thereby reducing dry ice consumption.
Due to their size, small particles penetrate better into grooves and recesses, which improves the quality and productivity of cleaning.
Due to their weight, small particles have less momentum when they hit the surface, which is important when cleaning thin sheet or woven parts made of metal, brittle plastic, or knitwear.
New Russian сryoblaster TRANSFORMER 2.0 from IRBISTEKH® can now perform dry ice cleaning with the help of long-lasting large solid CO2 pellets, previously used only in the low-temperature transport sector. This was achieved through a combination of new technical solutions for grinding pellets and feeding them into a compressed air stream. Development took place from 2016 to 2022, and there are no analogues in other countries.
Safety in accordance with international regulations.
Supersonic nozzle saves up to 17% of dry ice
Additionally, large pellets are used to extend the storage life of dry ice.
When the hatch grate is removed, the limit switch disconnects the power supply to the contactor, which interrupts the power supply to the electric motors of the pellet feed unit or grinder.
The rotating knife or portioning shaft stops instantly due to the internal friction of the motor reducers. The protection is designed in accordance with GOST R 51345-99.
The second-generation operator handle has a small trigger that can be pressed with one finger. The trigger itself is equipped with a lock to prevent accidental pressing. The lock must first be moved inside the trigger, and then the trigger must be pressed.
The protection against sudden start-up complies with the international safety standard ISO 14118-2018, which is not yet in force in Russia. The second-generation operator handle is not a mandatory part of the second-generation blaster kit.
Added function to protect against clogging of the pellet feed unit by controlling the cleaning air pressure (operator error can cost 2-3 hours of machine downtime);
The reliability of the pellet mixing system has been improved by switching to solid-state control.
Automatic circuit breakers for frequency converters have been installed (protection of IGBT transistors against short circuits);
Customizable and self-regulating electrical cabinet heating has been implemented.
The degree of protection of the enclosure has been increased from IP44 to IP54;
Built-in EMC filter and 10A fuse.
The dimensions of the pellet loading hatch have been increased by 30%;
The length of the machine has been reduced to 790 mm, and it now fits across a Euro pallet;
Slots for threading and tightening slings when securing to a Euro pallet.
Customizable and self-regulating electrical cabinet heating has been implemented.
The degree of protection of the enclosure has been increased from IP44 to IP54;
Built-in EMC filter and 10A fuse.

What is dry ice blasting?
Dry ice blasting, also known as dry ice cleaning, is an environmentally sustainable cleaning and surface preparation technology. Dry ice blasting uses recycled solid carbon dioxide (CO2) pellets or microparticles that are blasted at supersonic speeds and sublimate on impact, lifting dirt and contaminants from the substrate. Dry ice blasting is non-abrasive, non-conductive, non-toxic and non-flammable. It also contains no chemicals, no water and creates no secondary waste streams.
How do dry ice blasting machines work?
Dry ice blasters spray carbon dioxide pellets or microparticles at supersonic speeds using compressed air. These pellets/particles then sublime on impact and lift dirt and contaminants from the substrate.
What is dry ice blasting used for?
Dry ice blasting is a non-destructive solution for cleaning, surface preparation and finishing of parts. Dry ice blasting does not require water or cleaning chemicals and produces no secondary waste. Dry ice blasting (cleaning) can be used in industries such as aerospace and aviation, automotive, contract cleaning, food and beverage, plastics and composites, restoration, textile and more. Common applications in these industries include adhesive, coating and corrosion removal, composite tool cleaning, refurbishment, parts finishing and surface preparation. As you can see, dry ice blasting can be used for a wide range of applications.
What dry ice blasting equipment options do I have?
Irbisteh offers our top-notch dry ice blasting equipment, both new and used. As an OEM, you can rest assured that you are getting the best equipment and the customer service/support you deserve. Click here to learn more about our purchasing options.
Why should I choose dry ice blasting over another surface cleaning and preparation method?
Dry ice cleaning offers a non-toxic, environmentally sustainable alternative to traditional cleaning methods that does not create secondary waste during the cleaning process, does not require chemicals, and does not use valuable and expensive water during the cleaning process. It can also reduce time and labor costs compared to other methods.
Is dry ice blasting dangerous?
Since dry ice blasting involves the use of dry ice, there are certain safety precautions that should be taken to ensure the safety of all personnel. Some key safety precautions include: - Ensuring proper ventilation - Limiting exposure - Identifying and marking areas where CO2 may accumulate - Wearing and using proper PPE, such as gloves, goggles, and tongs. Dry ice blasting itself is not dangerous, but there are safety precautions that should always be taken. To learn more about CO2 and dry ice safety, click here.
